Apartments in der Friedrich Ebert Straße 90 Sportforum Overview
First Impressions
The Apartments in der Friedrich Ebert Straße 90 Sportforum sits right in the heart of Leipzig‘s Mitte district, and honestly, the location alone makes this place worth considering. I mean, you’re literally at Friedrich-Ebert-Straße 90 — one of those addresses that puts you within walking distance of pretty much everything that matters in the city center. The building itself has that solid German efficiency vibe, nothing flashy but you can tell it’s well-maintained and thoughtfully designed for longer stays.
The Apartment Experience
What I really appreciated about staying here is that you get a proper apartment setup rather than just a hotel room. Each unit comes with its own kitchen, which honestly saves you a fortune when you’re staying for more than a couple nights — Leipzig’s restaurant scene is fantastic, but sometimes you just want to grab groceries from the nearby Rewe and cook something simple. The apartments are spacious enough that you don’t feel cramped, and the furnishings strike that perfect balance between functional and comfortable. You know what really impressed me? The attention to detail in the setup — everything from proper cookware to decent Wi-Fi that actually works when you need it.
Location Magic
Here’s where this four-star property really shines — the location is absolutely unbeatable. I get why couples rate it so highly (apparently 9.9 out of 10, which is pretty remarkable). You’re a short walk from Leipzig’s historic center, the Gewandhaus, and all those beautiful churches and squares that make the city special. But it’s not just about tourist attractions — there’s real neighborhood life here too. The nearby Sportforum gives the area this interesting mix of locals and visitors, and you’ll find yourself discovering little cafes and shops that aren’t in any guidebook.
Practical Perks
The parking situation is actually manageable, which anyone who’s driven in German city centers will tell you is no small feat. The building offers secure parking options, though I’d recommend booking that in advance if you’re bringing a car. What really sets this place apart from typical hotels is how it caters to people who want to experience Leipzig like a temporary resident rather than just passing through. The staff understands that apartment guests have different needs — they’re helpful without being intrusive, and they genuinely know the neighborhood well enough to give you solid recommendations.
Why Guests Love It
After spending time here, I totally understand why recent guests consistently rate the location so highly. It’s that sweet spot where you feel connected to authentic Leipzig life while still having easy access to everything you came to see. The combination of apartment-style independence with hotel-level service really works, especially if you’re planning to stay more than just a night or two. Sure, the 7.3 overall rating suggests it’s not perfect — maybe the decor could be a bit more inspiring, and some of the appliances show their age — but for the price point and location, it delivers exactly what most travelers actually need rather than what they think they want.

Excellent apartments for the price. Located right next to the concert arena and tram line. The room is equipped with everything you need, and the wonderful receptionist Frau Hayrapetyan helped with check-in and key cards. The room has high ceilings and plenty of space.
What could be improved: The room is on the third floor and there is no elevator in the building, but that's not a big deal. You can hear the trams a little, but it didn't bother us, we slept well.Very good – Jolanta from Lithuania – 1 June 2025 (8/10)

What could be improved: Water pressure was a joke in shower
No blinds, too brightI appreciated the friendly hosts, spacious room, nice view and nearby local transit. – Edith from Canada – 21 May 2023 (7/10)
The hosts are great! The room is large with a nice view, and has lots of cupboard space and kitchen facilities. The bathroom is large, also with good storage space, and has a large bathtub. Transit was available just across the street.
What could be improved: Although it was nice to have transit available nearby, the trams going by were quite noisy. I noticed this especially when I was trying to get to sleep. Also, the drain of the bathroom sink was clogged.
