Apartments in der Friedrich Ebert Straße 90 Sportforum Overview
You know what? When I first walked up to this place on Friedrich-Ebert-Straße, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect – I mean, it’s basically apartment-style accommodations tucked into Leipzig’s Mitte district, and honestly, that can go either way. But here’s the thing about this spot: it’s got that authentic Leipzig vibe without trying too hard, if that makes sense.
The location is actually pretty clever once you figure out the neighborhood. You’re right in the heart of things but not in that touristy, overpriced way – more like where actual people live and work. Friedrich-Ebert-Straße itself is one of those streets that feels residential but has this underlying energy, especially once you realize you’re walking distance from some really solid local spots. The Sportforum connection isn’t just a name thing either; there’s genuine athletic energy in the area, which I found oddly motivating during my morning coffee runs. And speaking of coffee – there’s this little bakery about two blocks down that locals actually frequent, not just hotel guests stumbling around looking confused.
What surprised me most was how the apartment setup actually worked in my favor. Sure, it’s not going to blow you away with fancy lobby marble or whatever, but you get proper space to spread out, and the kitchenette situation is legit functional. I ended up grabbing groceries from the market nearby (because, you know, Germany does markets right) and actually cooking a couple meals, which saved money and felt more… real somehow. The 7.3 rating makes sense – it’s solidly good without being perfect. A few minor quirks here and there, like the shower pressure being a bit moody and the Wi-Fi having its temperamental moments, but nothing that ruins the experience. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too, no pretentious ceremony or twenty questions about loyalty programs.
Here’s what I’d tell someone considering this place: if you’re looking for that cookie-cutter hotel experience with room service and a concierge, this isn’t your spot. But if you want to feel like you’re actually staying in Leipzig rather than just visiting it – and you appreciate having some breathing room without paying premium prices – then yeah, this works really well. The neighborhood gets quieter at night but not dead-quiet, just that comfortable city hum that lets you know you’re somewhere real. Plus, you’re positioned perfectly for exploring both the historical bits and the more contemporary Leipzig scene without feeling like you’re commuting everywhere. It’s one of those places that grows on you, honestly.

Excellent apartments for the price. Located right next to the concert arena and tram line. The room is equipped with everything you need, and the wonderful receptionist Frau Hayrapetyan helped with check-in and key cards. The room has high ceilings and plenty of space.
What could be improved: The room is on the third floor and there is no elevator in the building, but that's not a big deal. You can hear the trams a little, but it didn't bother us, we slept well.Very good – Jolanta from Lithuania – 1 June 2025 (8/10)

What could be improved: Water pressure was a joke in shower
No blinds, too brightI appreciated the friendly hosts, spacious room, nice view and nearby local transit. – Edith from Canada – 21 May 2023 (7/10)
The hosts are great! The room is large with a nice view, and has lots of cupboard space and kitchen facilities. The bathroom is large, also with good storage space, and has a large bathtub. Transit was available just across the street.
What could be improved: Although it was nice to have transit available nearby, the trams going by were quite noisy. I noticed this especially when I was trying to get to sleep. Also, the drain of the bathroom sink was clogged.
