You know what caught me off guard about Apartment “Slow Horses”? The name actually makes perfect sense once you’re there – this place has this wonderfully unhurried vibe that’s honestly refreshing after bouncing between typical hotels. It’s tucked away on Anton-Zickmantel-Straße in Leipzig’s Plagwitz district, and I mean really tucked away. You’ll walk past it twice before realizing that unassuming entrance leads to something pretty special.

The apartment itself feels like staying at a friend’s place – if that friend happens to have excellent taste and actually knows how to make guests comfortable. The space has this lived-in quality without being worn down, you know? Real wood floors that creak just enough to feel authentic, windows that let in proper light (not those tiny hotel porthole things), and a kitchen that’s actually functional. I ended up cooking breakfast most mornings because honestly, why wouldn’t you when there’s a proper coffee maker and the Konsum nearby has decent fresh bread? The 8.1 rating makes sense – it’s not trying to be fancy, but everything works exactly as it should. No marble bathrooms or whatever, just solid fixtures and water pressure that doesn’t leave you standing there waiting.

What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, despite being in the city. Plagwitz has this interesting mix – industrial heritage meets young families and artists – so during the day there’s life happening, but evenings settle down nicely. The S-Bahn connection to the city center is actually pretty convenient (though I found myself walking along the Karl-Heine-Kanal more often than taking transit because, well, it’s Leipzig and the canal path is lovely). Parking was straightforward too, which if you’ve ever tried to park in Leipzig’s Innenstadt, you’ll appreciate. Check-in was refreshingly simple – none of that hotel lobby theater, just practical key exchange and genuine recommendations for local spots. The owner mentioned this bakery on Zschochersche Straße that turned out to be absolutely worth the detour, and honestly, those kinds of insider tips are what make the difference between a decent stay and actually feeling like you’ve discovered something.

  Die Wohnung ist gut ausgestattet.
  Einkaufen ist quasi vor der Haustür möglich und eine Bushaltestelle ist um die Ecke.
  Perfekt um Leipzig zu erkunden.

  Die Wohnung ist groß, gemütlich und zweckmäßig eingerichtet. Sie ist ruhig.gelegen, obwohl sich nur 100 m entfernt der Eingang zu einem Einkaufszentrum mit Bäcker, Metzger und einem riesigen Kaufland befindet. Der Vermieter ist sehr freundlich und obwohl nicht vor Ort, unter Einsatz aller technischen Mittel bemüht, bei Problemen zu helfen.
  
  What could be improved: Die Wohnung ist relativ weit von der Stadtmitte entfernt und hat in der näheren Umgebung kein attraktives Umfeld. Die Ausstattung der Küche mit kochutensilien ermöglicht nur eine rudimentäre Nutzung des vorhandenen Herds und des Ceranfelds.

  Gemütliches, kleines Apartment mit Balkon, sauber und gut ausgestattet. Es hat an nichts gefehlt. In unmittelbarer Nähe ein Supermarkt, Bäcker, Imbiss und Drogeriemarkt, was den Aufenthalt dort noch ein bisschen angenehmer macht. Wir würden es beim nächsten Mal wieder buchen.   Super Ausstattung der Ferienwohnung mit Waschmaschine, Trockner, Geschirrspüler sowie großem Fernseher, separates Schlafzimmer, schöner Balkon im 4. Stock, schönes Geschirr und Küche mit extra Esstisch
  Man könnte hier wohl auch locker zu dritt übernachten.
  
  What could be improved: Nur eine Kleinigkeit: ein Kaufland-Markt hat seinen Eingang in Richtung Schlafzimmer, das heißt, es kann schon früh etwas lauter werden bei geöffneten Fenster
