Look, I’ve stayed in my fair share of aparthotels across Europe, and honestly? Most of them feel like they’re trying too hard to be everything to everyone. But this place on Pfaffendorfer Straße – well, it actually gets it right. You know that feeling when you walk into a place and immediately think “okay, I could live here for a week”? That’s what happened here.

The location is what really sold me, though I didn’t fully appreciate it until I’d been wandering around Leipzig for a day or two. You’re literally a five-minute walk from the Market Square – I mean, you can practically hear the buzz from the restaurants and cafes if you open your windows in the evening. But here’s the thing nobody tells you: Pfaffendorfer Straße itself is this quiet little pocket that somehow escaped all the tourist chaos. I’d walk back from dinner around 10 PM and it felt like I had my own private corner of the city. The building sits right in Mitte (which, let’s be honest, is exactly where you want to be), but it’s tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with groups of tourists stumbling past your window at midnight.

What impressed me most was how they’ve managed to make these apartments feel… well, like actual apartments rather than hotel rooms pretending to be apartments. The kitchens aren’t just for show – I actually cooked a few meals, hit up the weekly market on Wilhelmsplatz (about a ten-minute walk), and it felt natural. The space doesn’t have that sterile “don’t touch anything” vibe you get at some places. I particularly loved how quiet it was – Leipzig can get surprisingly lively, especially around the university area, but somehow the building stays peaceful. Maybe it’s the way it’s positioned, or maybe they just have really good windows, but I slept better here than I have at hotels twice the price.

The staff deserves a mention too, actually. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – none of that over-the-top “welcome to our luxury experience” nonsense, just friendly people who clearly know Leipzig well. When I asked about getting to the Völkerschlachtdenkmal (that massive monument everyone talks about), they didn’t just hand me a generic map. Instead, they suggested taking the tram to avoid the tourist bus crowds and mentioned this little bakery near the monument that, honestly, ended up being one of my favorite discoveries of the trip.

I should mention – if you’re the type who needs a pool or fancy lobby to feel like you’re on vacation, this probably isn’t your spot. But if you want to feel like you’re actually experiencing Leipzig rather than just visiting it, this works perfectly. The 4-star rating feels right – it’s polished without being pretentious, comfortable without trying to impress you with unnecessary luxury. And that 9.1 rating? I get it. It’s not flashy, but everything just… works. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

  This hotel combines self-catering studios with the security of a 24 hour staffed reception, which is ideal, and important for a solo traveller like myself. The studio was spacious, well equipped and homely, and there was a communal area next to the reception where you could sit and help yourself to free, unlimited, tea, coffee and water. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was also good. It was in a fairly quiet residential area, but still very close to the city centre and tram stops. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting lovely Leipzig.
  
  What could be improved: I have nothing negative to say about this hotel, but it's probably worth pointing out that, due to the rooms having kitchenettes, there's no breakfast served or bar here, which may be an issue for some.

  To go to the concerts places for the Bach festival was so comfortable. And for sightseeing and shopping in the town , also to the central station, it's very convenient.
