The S-Bahn connection into Leipzig’s center is straightforward (about 20 minutes), and I found myself preferring this setup to staying right in the touristy areas. You walk out the door and there’s a proper German bakery around the corner where the woman behind the counter actually remembered my order by day three. That’s the kind of detail that makes a trip memorable, you know? Plus, if you’re exploring the broader Saxon region, the highway access is actually better from here than from Leipzig’s center – I did day trips to Dresden and Meissen without fighting through city traffic first.

The host clearly cares about the place, which shows in small ways. Check-in was smooth, everything worked as promised, and when I had a minor question about the heating, they responded quickly. It’s not luxury by any stretch – the furniture is basic, and don’t expect hotel-style amenities – but it’s genuine and comfortable. For the price, especially considering how expensive Leipzig has gotten lately, this felt like finding a hidden gem. I’d definitely stay here again, particularly if I wanted that local neighborhood experience rather than the typical hotel bubble.
