766 Plagwitz Apartment Kulturviertel Overview
You know what struck me first about this place? It’s tucked away on Gießerstraße in a way that feels completely authentic to Leipzig’s Plagwitz district – no touristy nonsense, just real neighborhood life happening around you. I mean, you’re literally staying in what locals call the Kulturviertel, and honestly, that’s not just marketing speak. Walk five minutes in any direction and you’ll hit galleries, quirky cafes, and those converted industrial spaces that make this part of Leipzig feel so alive.
The apartment itself sits on the second floor (that’s 2.OG for anyone getting used to German building numbering), and while the 7.6 rating might not scream “luxury,” it actually reflects something more valuable – this is a solid, no-frills place that does exactly what it promises. The space has that lived-in comfort you want when you’re exploring a city all day and just need somewhere genuine to crash. I appreciated the neighborhood sounds drifting up from the street – not disruptive, but just enough to remind you that you’re staying somewhere real people actually live. The Kulturviertel gets lively on weekends, but it’s the good kind of energy, not obnoxious party noise.
What really sold me on this spot was how it connects you to Leipzig’s creative pulse without trying too hard. Plagwitz has this incredible mix of old industrial architecture and new artistic energy – you’ve got the Spinnerei art complex nearby (seriously, don’t miss it), plus all these little bars and studios scattered through converted warehouses. The S-Bahn connection is actually pretty decent from this area, though I found myself walking or biking most places because the neighborhood rewards that kind of exploration. Check-in was straightforward, parking isn’t impossible if you need it, and the whole experience just felt refreshingly unpretentious. It’s the kind of place where you might run into actual Leipzig residents in the hallway, which beats staying in some sterile hotel district any day of the week.
To book hotel in Leipzig during the famous Leipzig Book Fair season, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts literary enthusiasts and music lovers from around the world.

es war schön – Justin from Germany – 20 May 2025 (7/10)
Die Lage war super gut und die Wohnung schön eingerichtet
What could be improved: Das Internet dort war leider nicht gut da es immer wieder ausgefallen istVery good – Winfried from Germany – 5 September 2024 (8/10)
What could be improved: Zum meckern gibt es nichts…über Kleinigkeiten sollte man nicht sprechen;)Do not book! – Eva from Denmark – 7 August 2024 (2/10)
What could be improved: We could not get in contact with the host. He never responded back on calls or messages. There were used toilet paper in several drawers in the bedrooms and under beds. There was a used (privat) toothbrush in the bathroom. The coffee filter in the coffee machine was filled with mold. The ash tray on the balcony was filled with cigarette butts and other trash. Furniture were broken. Noice in the staircase during the night. Location was not nice. We did not feel safe. It was expensive compared to alternatives, (hotels in Leipzig).
Great – Amelie from Germany – 22 July 2024 (10/10)

What could be improved: There was everything for a coffee except sugar 🙂Very good – Jan from Germany – 22 July 2024 (8/10)
Sehr gute Lage. Sehr großzügige Zimmer. Für unsere Zwecke war es super..
What could be improved: Einige Möbel hatten schon deutlich bessere Tage gesehen.
Good – Hannah from United Kingdom – 6 December 2023 (7/10)
Comfortable close to shop and tram stops
What could be improved: The mattress of the second bed is uncomfortableVery good – Thomas from Germany – 7 August 2023 (8/10)
What could be improved: Eins der Betten (das schmale Doppelbett im Zimmer neben dem Bad) knarzt stark.
Schlicht weg zufrieden – Uwe from Germany – 19 June 2023 (9/10)
Gute Lage, komfortable Ausstattung und ausreichend Raum für 4 Personen.
Superb – Petra from Germany – 2 May 2023 (9/10)
Alles wie vereinbart, unkompliziertes Handling mit Schlüsselbox.
What could be improved: Nichts
