There’s a tram stop basically around the corner – I mean, you can walk there in under three minutes – and it shoots you straight into Leipzig’s center in maybe fifteen minutes. The locals actually prefer this route over dealing with parking downtown, which tells you something. The apartment has that typical Eastern European efficiency thing going on: not huge, but every inch is used smartly. The kitchen’s small but has everything you’d actually need (decent coffee maker, thank god), and the bed’s comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up complaining. Parking’s street-side, which can be a bit of a hunt during weekdays when residents are around, but evenings and weekends? No problem at all.

You know what I really liked? The morning routine here feels genuinely local. There’s this little bakery about a five-minute walk away where the woman behind the counter actually remembers your order after a couple days – try getting that at a fancy hotel downtown. And honestly, being in Volkmarsdorf gives you this glimpse into regular Leipzig life that you’d miss if you stayed in the Altstadt. Sure, it’s not going to win any design awards, and the shower pressure is sort of hit-or-miss (though it was fine when I was there), but there’s something refreshing about a place that doesn’t try too hard. The 8-point rating makes sense to me – it’s not perfect, but it delivers on what it promises without any weird surprises. If you’re the type who wants to feel like you’re actually staying in Leipzig rather than just visiting it, and you don’t need someone to carry your bags or bring you fancy towels, this works really well.

  L'appartamento è molto accogliente e ben disposto. La cucina è funzionale dotata di ogni accessorio. Le due stanze da letto sono molto confortevoli, 4 persone si sono sistemate comodamente in due letti singoli ed un matrimoniale, eventualmente disponibile un divano molto confortevole. Per chi avesse necessità di soggiornare più a lungo c'è una comoda scrivania e lavatrice con prodotti per il bucato.

  What could be improved: – es Bedarf dringendst einer Grundreinigung in dieser Wohnung (Staubwischen, Fensterputzen, Fußböden saugen/wischen, Geschirr reinigen, Duschwand und Dusche reinigen, …)
  – es Bedarf dringendst Reparatur- bzw. Instandhaltungsmaßnahmen in der Wohnung (Türschloß der Eingangstür quasi aufgebrochen/defekt; Regendusche funktioniert nicht; Duschhalterung abgebrochen; Klopapierhalterung abgebrochen; diverse Gardinenblenden kaputt; keine Rollos mehr; Wasserhahn in der Küche wackelt; Möbel in der Wohnung sind abgewohnt – Türen und Schübe funktonieren mehr schlecht als recht)
  – Schrank im Schlafzimmer war nicht nutzbar, da mit Utensilien vollgestellt
  – obwohl als Nichtraucherappartment beworben roch es sehr streng nach Rauch
  – der Hinterhof glich in Teilen einem Bau-/Wertstoffhof
  – Lebensgefahr!! – das Absperrgitter des bodentiefen Fensters in der Küche war locker (die Wohnung befindet sich im Dachgeschoß!!!)
